Blemished Sacrifices – NO!
Sacrifices of Praise – Yes!
Our scriptures are found in the Books of Malachi; Hebrews; Romans and 1st Peter.
{Malachi Chapter 1:1, 2, and 6-8}:
(1.An oracle: The Word of the Lord to Israel through Malachi (My Messenger.)
(2. ”I have loved you,” says the Lord….
(6.A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, where is the honor due Me?” says the Lord Almighty. “It is you, O priest, who despise My name. “ But you ask, ‘How have we despised Your name?’
(7.”You place defiled food on My altar…..

Have you ever gone shopping in the produce section of your local grocery?
Do you find yourself being very selective in your choice of vegetables or fruit?
You obviously want to get the best for your table when shopping.

(7. but you ask, ‘How have we defiled You?’ “By saying, that the Lord’s table is contemptible.
(8.When you bring blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong?
When you sacrifice crippled or diseased animals, is that not wrong?
Try offering them to your governor! Would he be
pleased with you?
Would he accept you?” says the Lord Almighty.
{Proverbs 15:8} The word of God says.
(8.The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases Him.

What we find throughout our society and throughout the world is man's failure to communicate with the Lord in a way that shows the reverence, love, and respect that is due the Lord from man whom He has created.
We live in a society that wants to ask for the best of everything from the Lord, receive the best of everything from the Lord, expects the best of everything from the Lord, but gives the least of everything to the Lord.

When Araunah the Jebusite saw King David, {1st Ch 21:20} he bowed down to King David and said,
{1st Ch 21:23}”Take it! Let my lord the King do whatever pleases him. Look, I will give the oxen for the burnt offerings, the threshing sleds for the wood, and the wheat for the grain offering. I will give all this.”
But King David had the reverence, love, and respect for God that would not allow him to place defiled food on God’s altar.
King David said to Araunah the Jebusite,
{1st Ch21:24} But King David replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on paying the full price.
I will not take for the Lord what is yours, or sacrifice a burnt offering that costs me nothing.”

We must aspire to be like King David, we must revere, love, and respect the Lord so deeply that we refuse to offer any form of sacrifice to Him that we have not paid the cost for. We must not defile the altar of God.

Paul of Tarsus goes beyond even the sincerity of King David. Paul suggests to Christians that they give themselves as living sacrifices to the Lord.

{Romans12:1,2}(1.Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – which is your spiritual worship.
(2.Do not conform any longer to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good , pleasing and perfect will.

By offering ourselves as a living sacrifice to God, we are privileged to know His perfect will for us. And as Peter tells us, {1st Peter 2:4.5} we will be able to offer spiritual sacrifices to God that are acceptable to Him.

{1st Peter 2:4,5} (4.As you come to Him, the Living Stone, rejected by men-but chosen by God and precious to Him-...
(5.You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

And so, we find ourselves holding the key to open the door to the blessings of God through sacrifice. For unlike in days of old when man offered the body and blood of an animal as a sacrifice, we have a High Priest who has made the ultimate sacrifice for us. {Heb 13:11 -16}

{Heb 13:11-16} (11. The high priest carries blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp.
(12. And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through His own blood..
(13. Let us, then, go to Him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace He bore..
(14 For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come..
(15. Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise - the fruit of lips that confess His name..
(16. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Amen.

God Said, IF I, THEN I

The Lord gave a word to Jeremiah to go down to the potter's house in order to receive His message to him.

Jeremiah 18:3,4
So I went down to the potter's house and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands, so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.

While Jeremiah watched the potter reshape the pot, the word of the Lord came to him.

Jeremiah 18: 6-8
6. "O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?" declares the Lord. "Like clay in the hands of the potter, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel.
7. If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed,
8. and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned.

The Lord can at will be forgiving to a people who are willing to repent and denounce their evil practices.

Jeremiah 18:9,10
9. And if at another time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be built up and planted,
10. and if it does evil in My sight and does not obey Me, then I will reconsider the good I had intended to do for it.

So does this mean that God is unjust? Paul says in the book of
Romans 9:14,15 ...."Not at all!
15. For He says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion of whom I have compassion."

Pauls says, Romans 9:16, It does not, therefore depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy.

Romans 9:18 Therfore God has mercy on whom He wants to have mercy, and He hardens whom He wants to harden.

Paul ask the question,
Romans 9:22 What if God, choosing to show His wrath and make His power known, bore with great patience the objects of His wrath -- prepared for destruction?
Paul further asks,
Romans 9:23,24 What if He did this to make the riches of His glory known to the objects of His mercy, whom He prepared in advance for glory --
24. even us, whom He also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?

Paul has already previously informed us of our status as more than conquerors.

Romans 8:28-30
28. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
29. For those God foreknew He also predestined to be comformed to the likeness of His Son, that He might be the firsborn among many brothers.
30. And those He predestined, He also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

And so, Paul ask this question,
Romans 8:31,32 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
32. He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all -- how will He not also along with Him, graciously give us all things?

However, God requires something of us. God imposes an "IF" on mankind to be the catalyst for His "THEN."

2 Chronicles 7:14
If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

If today you and I want to receive God's "then", we need to follow His word, do what it says and if we show ourselves to be worthy of His blessings, then He will.

Many Are Called - But Few Are Chosen

On the Lord's day, which is Sunday, we tend to gravitate toward our various churches and take our place in our seats and procede to carry out the ritual of worship. For many of us this is the extent of our walk with the Lord, "church on Sunday morning." Sunday worship has been developed into a fine art over the centuries and acts of Sunday worship have become such accepted traditions that anyone not attending some form of worship on Sunday are considered to be lost and "unsaved."
For the millions of people not attending this Sunday at a regular Sunday worship service, this message is for you.
This is the day (Sunday) that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. I love church, I love going to church, I love working in the ministry service of church, I love fellowshiping, corporate prayer, and corporate praise of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sunday is truly a day of worship, a special day when we can set aside a specific period of time to give thanks and praise to the Lord and honor Him.
To me, there is something special about Sunday. On Sunday, I find myself anxious to hear the Word of God. I feel differently about Sundays than any other day of the week. It is obvious to me that the Lord intended Sunday to be special and for us to be aware of Sunday as a special day.
If you're not in church today, going to church today, or have no desire to relate to Sunday as anything but just another day of the week, this message is for you.
The good news is, you don't have to be inside the four walls of a physical structure called a "church" to be a child of the Most High God. You don't have to be sitting in a pew to acknowledge your faith and belief in The Lord God Almighty. Your don't have to know the words to a hymnal, Bible verses, the catechism, or even be able to verbatim recite the Lord's prayer to give honor and glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
You can praise and honor Him right where you are. Yes, even as you read this message, sitting in front of your computer screen, you can praise the Lord.
You see, the Lord has said that He has place the knowledge of Himself in the hearts of all of us. That means, He knows each and every one of us. The question is, do you know Him. You don't have to go anywhere to find the Lord, just accept Him as you Lord and Savior right here, right now, right where you are.
Our Lord is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, which means He is all powerful, that He has all knowledge, and that He is ever present in all places.
He is here with you right now. You have to acknowledge Him and invite Him into your life and your space. you can do that right now, right where you are.
If you want to present yourself to the Lord right now, let me help you by leading you to the Word of God given to the Apostle Paul so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
Romans 10:8, ..."The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming:
Romans 10:9, That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:10, For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
Romans 10:11, As the Scripture says, "Everyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame."
Romans 10:12, For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him,
Romans 10:13, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

So if you want salvation, it is available to you right where you are.
By the way, after you receive salvation from the Lord, you might want to share the testimony with the rest of us.
So join us at the church of your choice one Sunday. We'll be glad to have you.

A Topical Bible Study -- Avoiding Folly

Paul tells us in 2nd Timothy 3:9, 'There are many of us who oppose the truth - there are some of us who have depraved minds and as far as faith is concerned, are among the rejected.'
Paul thinks people like that will not get very far in life because, as in the case of some men (2nd Timothy 3:8, 'Just as James and Jambres opposed Moses,...) their Folly will be clear to everyone.

Folly: A lack of sense, foolishness, a foolish action or belief. -- Webster's New World Dictionary.

Where does Folly come from?
In Mark 7:20-23, the Lord said,
20) "What comes out of a man is what makes him unclean.
21) for from within, out of men's heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immortality, theft, murder, adultery,
22) greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and Folly.
23) All these evils come from inside and make a man unclean."

So, we find that Folly comes from within.

What Does Folly Do?
The book of Ecclesiastes tells us that;
Ecclesiastes 10:1, As dead flies give perfume a bad smell, so a little Folly outweights wisdom and honor.
In Proverbs 19:3, Solomon says, 3) "A man's own Folly ruins his life,....

And so we find ourselves faced with the question,
How do we avoid Folly?
The answer is complex.
We avoid Folly by not engaging in Infidelity, - Psalm 14:1.
We avoid Folly by not Trifling With Sin, - Proverbs 14:9.
We avoid Folly by Facing Evil In One's Own Strength, - Proverbs 28:26
We avoid Folly by Not Refusing Discipline For Evil Doing, Proverbs 27:22 and 26:11.
We avoid Folly by Not Meddling in Contentions (disputes,fights) of Others.
We avoid Folly by Not Feeding the Soul on Material Things, - Luke 12:16-21 and Psalm 52:7.

Avoiding Folly is well worth the effort. These tools (Scriptures) above can help you do it.

In the New Testament of the Bible, the disciple James, the brother of Christ, (Matthew 13:53) declares himself a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. James is sending greetings to the 12 tribes of Israel that are now scattered among many nations.
James started out as a non-believer, ( John 7:5), {"for even His own brothers did not believe in Him."}
However, following the resurection and ascention of the Lord Jesus Christ, James joined the disciples (Acts 1:14) (1 Cor 15:7).
At this writing of James, it is believed that James was one of the leaders of the church at Jerusalem (Acts 15:13, 21:18)
James experienced such a profound change in beliefs that he wrote strongly about the necessity of having a sense of performing works along with a great sense of faith, (James 1:14-20) {14 "What does it profit, my brethren, though a man say he has faith, and have not works? Can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 and one of you say unto them, depart in peace, be warmed and filled; notwithstanding you give them not those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou has faith, and I have works; show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faitgh by my works.
19 You believe that there is one God; you do well; the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?}
James also encourages us to involve ourselves in Intercessory Prayer, he advises us to James 5:16-18){16 "Confess faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.}
For a man who started out as a non-believer, James proved to be one of the strongest disciples of the 12, and though his writings cover only five chapters of the New Testament, covering roughly three pages of text, James wrote very profoundly and authoritatively on many subjects. He gave warning against riches, (James 1:9-11), promoted obedience (James 1:22-25), spoke on practical religion, (James 26,27) and encouraged care and consideration for the poor(James 2:1-9). James also wrote of the law of liberty, (James 2:10) {10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11 For he that said, "Do not commit adultery, said if you kill, you have become a transgressor of the law.
12 So speak , and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that has showed no mercy; and mercy rejoices against judgment.
James concludes his writings by giving advice on converting a brother from error. (James 5:19,20) {19 "Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
20 Let him know, that he which converts the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul form death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

The Judas Gospel - A Different Gospel? Not!

First of all, why are many "Christians" shocked to learn that there are more "Gospels" in existence than Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John? Could it be because many "Christians" are not interested in knowing the truth, the real truth that could if they knew, really set them free?
Any Christian who is truly familiar with the Word, and has taken the time to become personally acquainted with the Bible, would be more than aware of the fact that there are many other gospels out there and they didn't just happen to be discovered by the Gnostics or revealed through "The Da Vinci Code".
In 1st Corinthians 15:1, Paul reminds the brothers, (1)"Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand."
And in Corinthians 15:2, he goes on to say, (2)"By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the words I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain".
The book of Galatians makes it very clear that there are other gospels. Listen to Paul preaching to the churches in Galatia: Galatian 1:6,7 - (6)"I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel ____." (7)which is really no gospel at all....Paul reiterates in Galatians 1:9, "As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!".
In Galatians 1:11, Paul clarifies, (11)"I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ".
So, I, The_Marquise, say to you sisters and brothers, don't allow yourselves to be swayed by some "new" gospel that would try to compromise your faith.
The Lord, knowing that this time would come, has already prepared us for it.
Colossians 2:6-8: (6)So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him,
(7)rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught and overflowing with thankfulness.
(8)See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ".

A Prayer For Those In Trouble

God, You stand with us in times present; You carry us through many hardships; You shield us from danger over and over again.Thank You, thank You for allowing us to lay our needs before You now.We are asking for Your help, Father, we are perplexed and afraid. We do not know which way to turn.You, Holy Spirit, helps us in our weaknesses. You search our hearts and answer our petitions that we bring before You even when we do not know what to pray. God, we seek the courage to face all situations before us. We ask for wisdom to see the way that is right and the strength and courage to take that way. Lord grant us the strength to endure. We know that You will not allow us to be defeated; we know that we can be victorious through You. We pray that the peace that surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and minds. Through Christ we pray. Amen.

I just ran across a lot of information about "religious discrimination". Now I feel inspired to do a Blog on this stuff, so for the next however long it takes, this is what this page is going to be about. This information is backed up by some pretty impressive references to documents from various government departments, so we can assume that it is for real.
Talks about Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Seems that this 'Act' prohibits employers from discriminating against individuals because of their religion. That means whether they (employers) are hiring, firing or whatever.
Title VII covers employers with 15 or more employees, including state and local goverments.
Oh yeah, and it also applies (ha, ha, ha) to employment agencies and to labor organizations as well as the feds.
So, what am I saying here?
Simply this. As an employee, you can't be forced to participate--or not participate---in a religious acitvity.
Deep huh.

I think it's time we gave some serious thought to the phrase, "Don't bite the hand that feeds you." Truly God is a generous and loving god who has my and your best interest at heart. Let's give Him the praise and all of the glory. In the name of Jesus.

1.) Now when He (Jesus) saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain side and sat down. His disciples cam to Him.

2.) And He began to teach them, saying:
Matt 6:5 "But when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men.

Matt 6:6 When you pray, go into your room, and pray to your Father, who is unseen.
Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Matt 6:7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.

Matt. 6:8 Do not be like them (pagans), for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.

9.) This is how you should pray:
"Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be Your name,

10.) Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

T'was The Night Before Christ mas

It was the night before Christmas and all over the world, mankind knowingly and unknowingly awaited the birth of the Savior who would be the namesake for the most important event to ever occur, Christmas.
The birth of Jesus was the most ochestrated event that has ever happened.
A virgin was chosen by God to be Jesus' mother.
A man named Joseph was chosen to be his earthly father.
The name Jesus was given to Joseph by an angel.
Jesus was predestined to "save His people from their sins."
Roughly 760 years before His birth, the prophet Isaiah prophesized the birth of Jesus and identified Him as Immanuel (God with us).
Isaiah even foretold Jesus' diet and His disposition.
Following the miraculous birth of Jesus, the world system moved into high gear in an attempt to destroy Him.
King Herod tried to kill Him through infant genocide.
Satan, the devil, tried to destroy Jesus through temptation.
The disciples of John the Baptist who had served as messengers
announcing the coming of Jesus questioned His choice of company and
the lack of orthodoxed conformity of His disciples because they did not fast.
The birth of Jesus introduced much into the world that had never
existed before. The world became blessed with:
An immaculate conception; Satan appearing and being defeated; devine
healing; Beatitudes; preaching; disciples; missionary work; parables;
death, burial, and resurrection; and of course, salvation.
T'was the night before Christmas, the last night that the world would
live in hopeless sin.

Amen.

Why Do Bad People Have It So Good? Jeremiah's Question

Jeremiah has been labeled "the weeping prophet".
Called at a very young age as a devine prophet of the Lord,
Jeremiah would suffer being placed in stocks, be threatened
for prophesying, be oppressed by Hananiah, imprisoned, thrown
into a cisten and forced to Egypt in flight from Babylon among
other things.
Is it any wonder Jeremiah weeped? Jeremiah had something,
a lot of something to weep about.
However, in Jeremiah 12:1,2, we find him asking God a question.
Jeremiah wants to know, why does it appear that the bad guys are winning?

You are always righteous, O GOD, when I bring a case before You.
Yet I would speak to You about Your justice:
But I do have some questions:
Why does the way of the wicked prosper?
Why do all the faithless live at ease?

You have planted them and they have taken roots.
They grow and bear fruit.
You are always on their lips but far from their hearts.
Yet, You know me, O Lord;
You see me and test my thoughts about You.
Drag them off like sheep to be butchered!
Set them apart for the day of slaughter!
How long will the land lie parched and the grass
in every field be withered?
Because those who live in it are wicked, the
animals and birds have perished.
Moreover, the people are saying, "He will
not see what happens to us."

5.) If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out,
how can you compete with horses?
If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in the
thickets by the Jordan?
12.) Over all the barren heights in the desert destroyers will swarm,
for the sword of the Lord will devour from one end of the land to the other;
no one will be safe.
13.) They will sow wheat but reap thorns;
they will wear themselves out but gain nothing.
So bear the shame of your harvest because of the Lord's
fierce anger.
14.) This is what the Lord says:
As for all my wicked neighbors who seize the inheritance
I gave my people Israel,
I will uproot them from their lands and I will uproot the house
of Judah from among them.
But after I uproot them, I will again have compassion
and will bring each of them back to his own inheritance
and his own country.

The Lord gives Jeremiah the understanding
that Israel must suffer the consequences of past acts
and decisions that they made against the will of God
and nothing will change that.
So, Israel must bear the burden of punishment for their actions.
However, the Lord says to Israel, "I ain't mad at you," in fact,
I am not only going to destroy your persecutors, I am going to
restore your land and place you back in it.
But this time, you must do the right thing.
Our Lord is a forgiving God, He loves us and wants the best for us.
But when we chose to operate against the will of God,
it seems as though the bad guys are winning?

Don't Be Deceived__by Yourself!

The Devil Made Me Do It! - Really?

Myths have a powerful effect on people. Some of us live our entire lives believing things that are nothing more than myths, misinformation that has been filtered down from person to person and sometimes from generation to generation.
Myths about the devil abound throughout secular and religious society and in many instances have shaped or influenced the very lives and institutions of mankind.
Some folk think that the devil is as powerful or equal to the Lord Jesus Christ.
The myth is that the devil is omnipresent, or everywhere at once and can at any moment impact the lives of the population of the world. This is a myth.
What is true is, the devil (satan) has been cast from the heavenly realm.
Jesus said in the book of Luke 10:18, "I saw satan fall like lighting from heaven....."
Jesus said to the seventy-two men that he had appointed, "I have given you authority..... to overcome all the power of the enemy (the devil)...."
What is true is, the devil influences by craft. Paul tell us in 2nd Chronicles 11:14, ....for satan (the devil) himself masquerades as an angel of light."
Why does the devil masquerade as an angel of light?
Isaiah explains it this way, Isa. 14:3,5,& 12;
3.... How the oppressor has come to an end!
5. The Lord has broken the rod of the wicked..."
12. How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth...."
So you see, the devil who used to be an angel of light is now simply
a pretender who masquerades as what he was and is no more and will
never be again.
Praise the Lord.

Words from Pope John Paul II. The Pope died a few months past and we are left with a great legacy of his having been here among us. I am not Catholic by religious faith, however, what has religious faith got to do with the love of Christ our Lord. I believe the Pope loved the Lord Jesus Christ and that is what is our common denominator.
The Pope wrote of "When the moment comes" in March of 1979. He said: "I am completely in Your (The Lord's) hands. In the Name of the Holiest Trinity. Amen."
The Pope is where we all should be aspiring to go, into the hands of The Lord Jesus Christ.

Whose On First?

Still going down the Yellow Brick Road of Religious Discrimination.

Obviously, the 'Government' thinks more of the workplace in regards to religion than it does of schools.
An employer is required to accommodate an employee's "sincerely held" religious beliefs and/or practices unless doing so would impose an undue hardship on the employer.
That is heavy. No prayer in school for my kids, but accommodate me at work. Are we talking hypocrisy in it's finest form here, or is this just being fair? Whatever!
But of course the employer gets to decide if accommodating an employee's religious beliefs and practices would impose an undue hardship. So what do you think the chances are that this would be true in most if not all of the instances?

Express YourSelf!!

There was a poem written by Emily Dickinson called Not In Vain.
I don't have the rights to print Emily's poem here, so I'll just paraphrase it and hope you get the point.
The writer talks about stopping one heart from breaking and by doing so, one would not have lived in vain.
She also talks about easing the aching of one life, cooling one pain or helping one fainting robin to get back into it's nest.
Doing all or any of the above could result in not having lived in vain.
What a touching thought. Just by helping someone or something, life can be fulfilled and not lived in vain.
Kind of reminds me of this guy named Jesus who unselfishly gave his life that we might have life and that more abundantly.
Emily wrote a very deep and heart felt poem. And because Emily's poem has no religious conotation to it, you could if you wanted to paste or pin a copy of it on the wall of your office with no concern as to whether it was O.K. to do so.
Not so with scriptures that you might copy from the Bible.
Even though your employer must permit you, the employee, to engage in religious expression if you are permitted to engage in other personal expression at work such as posting one of Emily's poems, unless the religious expression does not impose what the employer considers to be an "undue" hardship on him or her, you can't do it.
If the employer wont let you paste or pin up scriptures, he or she must also deny you the permission to paste or pin stuff such as Emily's poems because they have a comparable effect on workplace efficiency.
Christians have an ally in people like Emily.
Worker, use your power!

SATAN: Deal Or No Deal?

So you've got the Spirit, and you're Saved. You've got the Holy Ghost, you are Blessed. You are Saved and Sanctified, you're a child of God. You have been Slain in the Spirit.
You're covered by the blood of Christ. You're a Good Christian.
If you are any of these things or all of these things, you are truly resting in the Lord.
Praise God!
For many of us who are Christians, all of these things are enough, in fact, more than enough to assure us that we have our place in the Lord.
For those of us who feel this way, the Lord has given me a message to open your eyes, hearts and minds to a truth that you must be aware of.
Read the following, you could very well be blessed and redeemed by this message.
Plain and simply put as given by the Lord, you need to KNOW the Word of God. Let me say that one more time, you need to KNOW the Word of God.
Why? Because, you will never, ever succeed in defeating satan unless you personally know the Word of God.
Headline #1: Satan knows the Word of God!
Headline #2: Satan is counting on you not knowing the Word of God.
Headline #3: Satan succeeds in tempting those who do not know the Word of God.
How does this not happen to you, how do you stay out of the headlines with satan? You do it by personally knowing the Word of God.
Jesus gave us the best example of knowing the Word in the book of Matthews chapter 4.
In Ch.4:3; The tempter came to Him and said, "If you are the Son of God, he said, tell these stones to become bread." Ch.4:4; Jesus answered, "It is written:'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God'."
Now, for anyone other that satan, this would have been enough of a counter to end the situation, however, satan decided to get physical, the Word says, Ch.4:5; Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. Then satan said, Ch.4:6; "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw your self down. For it is written: "'He will command His angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'"
But Jesus was ready for satan, He came back with this, Ch.4:10; Jesus said to him, "Away from me satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.'"
And in Ch.4:11, we find; "Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him."
Satan said to Jesus, "Deal or No Deal?"
Jesus Christ said to satan, "No Deal!!"

As a minister of the Lord Jesus Christ, my living Lord, I am privileged to bear His comfort to those in sorrow. Having recently learned of a death, I am acknowledging here that I care. I ask that you share this tribute of comfort to those who grieve their loss....

Isaiah 41: 10

Fear thou not: for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God:
I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee
with the right hand of my righteousness.

2 Corinthians 1:3,4

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulations, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

Let us be sensitive to the families and their sorrow in times such as this. We can show our care by being there, by listening, and by feeling the sorrow of those who are grieving. Spend time with them, but don't intrude on their privacy when they feel the need to have it.

Peace With God During Afflictions

There are times when we seem to lose heart, because we feel that the burdens of life are too hard to bear.
There are times when we feel that we are all alone, no one cares, no one knows our struggle.
There are times when we need a word, just a word to give us the strength to take another step, to reach for another rung on the ladder of life.
At times like those, we have an Intercessor who knows our plight, cares about us and is able and willing to see us through.

"Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us."
